九曲黄河第一湾位于若尔盖县唐克乡，此处是四川、青海、甘肃三省交界处。
黄河九曲第一湾发源于巴颜喀拉山（海拔4500米）之黄河，流经四川省境内，在若尔盖县唐克乡索克藏寺院旁形成的著名景点。黄河在此横切径为300米，白河横切径为400米。黄河于此段流程中，为四川与甘肃之界河，河西为甘肃，河东为四川。黄河自甘肃一侧来，白河自黄河第一湾湾顶汇入，型如“S”型，黄河之水犹如仙女的飘带自天边缓缓飘来，在四川边上轻轻抚了一下又转身飘回青海，故此地称九曲黄河第一湾。
此地丘状高原如小岛，浮于河中。九曲第一湾岛屿众多，红柳成林，婆娑多姿，锦鸡野兔隐遁其中，水鸟翔集，渔舟横渡，是锦鸡、黄鸭、野兔、丹顶鹤、黑颈鹤的乐园，被中外科学家誉为“宇宙中的庄严幻景”。索克藏寺前侧有一山丘，登丘顶可远眺，但见白河逶迤直达天际，黄河婉蜒折北而逝，草连水，水连天，苍苍茫茫，两条河流优雅别致，像一对情侣，携手走向西北天边，令人胸襟为之开阔。
落日时分，这里又有“落霞与孤骛齐飞，秋水共长天一色”之神韵。簇簇帐篷、缕缕炊烟、牧歌声声、骏马驰骋，如诗如画，美不胜收。古寺白塔，相伴黄河，更显自然之悠远博大。傍依在第一的斜山坡上，是草原上著名的索克藏寺，这里是观看日出和日落的最佳位置。远远望去，茫茫原野与辽阔幽深的蓝天自然地融为了一个和谐的整体。这种天人合一的思想，竟为这片高地上最初的活佛所理解、所表达，让人叹为观止！
The first bend of Yellow River is located at Tangke town, Ruoergai County. It is the intersection of Sichuan, Qinghai, and Gansu Province. After plunging through the Bayankela valley, the yellow river slows down a little and takes a huge turn between Mount Animaze and Mount Xize. The turn is 443 kilometers long. It is the first bend of the yellow river from its origin.
Drive from Ruoergai County for 61 kilometers to Tangke town. Then take another 9 kilometers to the north, you will arrive at the first bend of yellow river. Climbing on one of the small hills there, you can see the spectacular view of this natural wonder. The turn is from west to north, pivoting the Tangke, flowing through a wonderful landscape of wild flowers, meadows and blue sky.
